Title: National Sales Manager- Wholesale Consumer Markets

The National Sales Manager is responsible for top line units and revenue goals in the TV Shopping and Consumer Wholesale markets in the US, Canada and Australia. They are also responsible for leading and managing all strategic relationships with both wholesale customers and outside partners. They will partner with internal resources to define and own the “go to market” selling strategies and sales processes, including coordinating fulfillment, marketing and trade show activities that successfully promote sell-in and sell-thru of Select Comfort products. National Sales Managers may directly manage a field sales team and/or indirectly work with outside sales organizations to maximize placement and training for Select Comfort products.
Major Responsibilities Include:
- Drive the growth of Select Comforts business at QVC, including improving on-air effectiveness and expanding penetration of Select Comfort products at QVC
- Drive the expansion of Select Comforts business in Canada and Australia by working with existing partners to create successful sell-in and sell-thru programs
- Build and execute strategies that meet and exceed topline revenue goals and distribution targets for Canada, Australia and other markets as needed
- Lead the cross-functional QVC, Canada, and Australia Team that oversees the ongoing execution of QVC programs and the development and introduction of new Select Comfort products and processes in assigned partners
- Responsible for working with Select Comfort marketing team and QVC TV sales group to develop primary marketing messages and show rundowns for all QVC events
- Recruit, manage and motivate QVC on-air guests for Select Comfort
- Prepare and present sales presentations directly to wholesale buyers and customers
- Train and motivate direct and indirect “sales teams”
- Create, refine and manage successful sales processes for partners in Canada, Australia, Alaska, Hawaii and others as needed
- Maintain accurate unit and revenue forecasts for all partners in Canada, Australia, Alaska, Hawaii and others as needed
- Develop and lead market plans that are channel and partner specific and designed to exceed monthly, quarterly and yearly commitments
- Co-develop and execute sales programs specifically designed to increase Select Comforts sales and unit growth
- Identify and develop new distribution partnerships that drive top line sales and market expansion
- Create and foster industry specific relationships that enhance Select Comforts ability to demonstrate leadership within specific channels of distribution
- Develop and drive meaningful strategic relationships across key partners organizations and foster these relationship back into Select Comforts organization
- Represent Select Comfort at key partner meetings for the purpose of reviewing current achievements and ongoing opportunities
- Create and execute annual partnership plans that clearly outline specific goals and achievements for the sales channel. This also includes developing and reporting KPI’s that will measure progress against the goals
- May manage front line Field Sales Representatives and/or Independent Sales Agencies
- Prioritize and manage travel and training budgets for all assigned channels
Requirements:
- 5+ years Sales Management or Business Development experience
- 5+ years Experience leading and managing Sales
- Prior experience with TV Shopping Sales channel
- Ability to travel 50% - 70% a year
- Ability to anaylyze complex data and develop strategic sales action plans
- Sales Training experience
- Demonstrated track record of external relationship building (sales partners, OEMs, vendors, etc)
- Consumer products experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related strongly preferred
- Strong communication (written, presentation, verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational, project management and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer skills required: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet
- Financial acumen, analytical skills, ability to manage P&L
- Strong people leadership skills – ability to motivate others to maximize their performance/results
- Able to organize, prioritize work, meet deadlines and work independently
- Able to work well in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Able to follow schedules and complete required documentation and reports
- Able to be flexible and to handle multiple projects in an organized, timely manner
- Able to remain calm under pressure and solve problems with creativity
- Ability to travel at least 50%
