Title: Creative Director 

Description:

This person will lead the creative services team as brand ambassadors ensuring the brand voice and brand identity are fully leveraged.  Responsible for design of effective visual branding and effective execution of brand messaging in the development of collateral such as in-store signage, marketing materials, product collateral, print and websites while supervising a team of creative professionals.

 

Major Responsibilities Include:   

  • Establish vision for creative team/department ensuring alignment with key organizational strategies.
  • Drive brand vision strategies building a new standard in creative excellence.
  • Lead the creative development process and communication between all creative teams and business managers ensuring brand adherence while leveraging strong project management capabilities.  
  • Directly responsible for final approval of all brand marketing communications.
  • Manage and maintain advertising claims, brand standards and style guide manuals ensuring organization consistency and appropriate internal/legal approval for all communications.
  • Lead the functional areas on strategic brainstorming thinking and concepting as part of the creative development process.
  • Manages the design, production & writing of internal marketing communication pieces.
  • Manage and develop a creative services team consisting of design, production, writing & coordination.
  • Responsible for the accuracy, timeliness and quality of work produced by the creative team.
  • Develop and oversee the photo shoot process to ensure most cost effective while maintaining high overall quality.
  • Manage the corporate image site supporting internal and external clients.
  • Deliver high-level creative work on a consistent basis.
  • Partner with key project managers and business leaders to guide strategic creative development from the start of project through completion.
  • Manage workload in a proactive manner allowing for tighter resource management.
  • Manage outside services, such as photographers and freelance designers.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10+ years of industry experience; 2+ years experience as a Creative Director in a corporate or agency in-house creative department.
  • 4 year college degree in Business/Marketing/Communications w/emphasis in Design required.
  • Demonstrated ability of building and leading highly skilled design and writing professionals.
  • Proven experience and capabilities in “hands-on” creative review, art direction, resource/work flow management.
  • Strong background in copywriting and design.
  • Depth of experience and working knowledge of job tracking process and work load management.
  • Solid understanding of creative brief development process.
  • Effective business acumen with associated business analytics and reporting.
  • Digital design and messaging development experience.
  • Strong Proficiency in Adobe CS4/CS5. Proficiency in Dream Weaver, Flash or PowerPoint a plus.
  • Project Management certificate a plus.
  • Stay current with emerging cultural, style and design trends.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Requires excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Travel will be limited.
